The failure affected at least tens of thousands of users
After an outage on Thursday morning that affected at least tens of thousands of customers and brought down a communications system that has evolved into a crucial business tool in the digital era, Zoom Video Communication Inc. said that its services had been restored.
The business released a statement saying, “Now that everything is functioning smoothly, we will continue to monitor the issue.”
Zoom video conferencing suffered major disruptions
Over 40,000 reports of complaints about the service were received on Thursday morning, according to Downdetector, a crash tracking service.
Zoom sessions were reported to be experiencing significant disruptions on the video conferencing company’s status page, albeit they were later made available again in the morning.
The outage highlighted Zoom’s significance at a time when many corporate workers are still employed remotely. However, over the past year, the company has battled with a drop in demand, in part because more customers are going back to the office.
In the last 12 months, shares have decreased by more than 70%.
