The U.S. government is divided on the fact that Amazon intended to mislead the U.S. Congress.

Amazon news

Lawmakers believe that the management of the online retailer, including Jeff Bezos, intended to conceal information regarding the company’s use of merchant data.

On Monday, CEO Andy Yassi was contacted in writing by authorities who said the information from Amazon was at odds with what the witnesses said.

Now on the agenda is the referral of this case to the Department of Justice

In the same letter was sent instructions to correct the deficiencies and by swearing to provide accurate information about the use of third-party sellers’ data in the interests of Amazon. If that does not happen, the legislators threaten to refer the case to the Ministry of Justice and the further institution of a criminal case.

The press service of the online store responded to the letter and reported that at the moment the company is engaged in a detailed investigation, the results of which will be taken the necessary measures.

Moreover, the spokesperson said that when a customer searches for an item in a search, the products of Amazon and third-party sellers have equal priority.

Lawmakers still believe that Amazon intends to mislead the committee, there is a possibility that all the facts were presented incorrectly to Congress absolutely intentionally.
